Barrow Masons Remember 11.11.12

W. Bro's Bill Joughin, Dave Sear and Geoff Waters joined the Remembrance Parade in Barrow in Furness
on Sunday 11th November, Bro Dave Sear WM No 36 laid the wreath on behalf of the Lodge and Mark
Degree. There were many other members of No. 36 at the Cenotaph but with other Organisations.

Bro Dave Caldwell serves with the Coastguard whilst Bro Woods is a member of the British Legion
having been a professional soldier. In the crowd were W Bro Ken Jackson and W Bro John Fairbairn
with their wives.

John Fairbairn laid the wreath last year and followed the example of his Grandfather, who as Town Mayor,
laid the very first wreath when the Cenotaph was Consecrated.

The Parade proceeded to the Cenotaph in bright sunshine, however, at two minutes to eleven the sky
opened and treated everyone to a five minute drenching, the raindrops hitting the microphone sounding like
distant gunfire...eerie
